Our Story

OUR STORY

We met in Lynchburg, Virginia, shortly after college and began spending a lot of time together. We weren’t sure where things would lead at first, but soon we found ourselves hanging out more and more. Before long, we had become inseparable.

Our first date set the tone for everything that followed. It was an extremely hot day, but that didn’t stop us from going out and having fun. That evening, we played mini golf, and Jason made sure Christie would win by "accidentally" miscounting the points—a playful moment that still makes us laugh today.

A year later, we decided to take a leap and both move to Atlanta, where we truly began building our life together. Shortly before getting engaged, we welcomed Benny, our energetic puppy, who has filled our lives with even more joy and excitement.

Over time, we introduced each other to some of our favorite things—Jason shared his love for sushi, pho, and other Asian dishes that have now become staples in our lives. Christie brought large, loud family time and extravagant holiday celebrations into the mix, creating traditions of our own. Though we don’t always see eye-to-eye on coffee or anything pumpkin-flavored, we’ve learned to love our differences.

We also can’t forget Nate's house, where we spent so many evenings watching movies during our first year of dating—an unofficial free date spot that holds a special place in our story.

In addition to everything else, we bonded over our shared love of design and technology. With Christie as a UX designer and Jason as a developer, building websites and apps together became just one more way we connected and proved we make such a great team. However, despite our teamwork in life, we’ve discovered we cannot be Pickleball partners without bickering—a funny reminder that not everything is a perfect match.

Now, as we prepare for our wedding, we’re excited to celebrate this journey with you. While our U.S. wedding won’t include many traditional Indonesian elements, we deeply value the blend of cultures that has shaped our relationship. Indonesia holds a special place in our lives through the traditions, family ties, and experiences we’ve shared. From Lynchburg to Atlanta—and across the world—every step has shaped our story, and we can’t wait to share the next chapter with our closest friends and family.
